It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Muscat Arbitration and Mediation Days, an initiative of the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre bringing together the dispute resolution community from Oman, the region and beyond. At a time when commercial relationships are increasingly international and complex, effective dispute resolution is more important than ever. This initiative was created to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue, the exchange of experience and greater collaboration among practitioners, arbitrators, mediators, the judiciary, businesses, institutions, and other stakeholders.

Our ambition extends beyond hosting an annual conference. We strive to establish Muscat as a meeting place for the international dispute resolution community — where different perspectives and legal traditions come together, new ideas are explored, and lasting professional relationships are built. Through this conference, we also aim to contribute to the continued development of arbitration and mediation in the Sultanate of Oman and to strengthen Oman's position as a trusted and internationally connected centre for commercial dispute resolution.
